TO Deep Ellum from West End
Go South on Houston, Lamar or Griffin. Turn left (east) onto Main or
Commerce. Drive straight through downtown, past Central Expressway. Deep
Ellum pedestrian area begins at Good Latimer, one traffic light past Central
Expressway.
FROM Deep Ellum to West End
Go west on Main or Elm and drive through downtown. Turn right (north)
on Market or Lamar.
TO Deep Ellum via the Dallas North Tollway
South on Tollway, past exit toll plaza. Cross over and merge onto I-35E (Stemmons Freeway)
going south to Waco. Take I-30 East to Central Expressway / Downtown. Drive
straight through first traffic light (Harwood), then stay left to cross over
freeway and merge onto South Central Expressway. Go north (straight) to Commerce
or Main. Turn east (right) on Commerce or Main and cross under Central
Expressway (Julius Schepps Freeway) and past Good Latimer.
FROM Deep Ellum to the Dallas North Tollway
Go west on Main or Elm to Good Latimer. Go right (north) onto Good Latimer,
under Tunnel Visions. After Swiss avenue, merge into lane next to far right
lane at Live Oak. Cross intersection at Live Oak and take second exit to
the left marked I-35E (Stemmons). Merge onto Woodall Rogers Freeway and merge
into lane next to far right lane. Take exit to I-35E North to Denton; stay
in far right lane after merge is complete. Take exit to Tollway (after
exit to Hi Line drive.)
TO Deep Ellum via North Central Expressway
Two routes:
Go south on US-75, staying in left lane. Take left Live Oak exit, staying
in the right of two left exit lanes. Take immediate right exit to Good
Latimer. Stay on frontage road past Ross and merge into right lane(s).
Frontage road veers to left to cross under Central Expressway onto Good
Latimer. Go past Swiss and under Tunnel Visions, and take a left onto
Commerce or Main.
- OR -
Go south on US-75, staying in left lane. Take left Live Oak exit and stay
on road past Live Oak. Street veers to right and then wraps left around
a city commons park. Turn left at Main or Commerce and drive under Central
Expressway.
FROM Deep Ellum to North Central Expressway
Two routes:
Go west on Main or Elm past Good Latimer, turn right at traffic light at
Central Expressway which merges onto North Central after one traffic
light.
- OR -
Go west on Main or Elm to Good Latimer. Go right (north) onto Good Latimer,
under Tunnel Visions. After Swiss avenue, merge into lane next to far right
lane at Live Oak. Cross intersection at Live Oak and take first exit to
the left marked US-75 (North Central Expressway).
TO Deep Ellum from I-30
Take I-30 East to Central Expressway / Downtown. Go north (straight)
to Commerce or Main. Turn east (right) on Commerce or Main and cross
under Central Expressway (Julius Schepps Freeway) and past Good
Latimer.
FROM Deep Ellum to I-30
Go west on Elm, past Good Latimer and Central Expressway. Go south (left)
on Pearl and east (left) into right lane on Main street. Take I-30 exit
from right lane. Merge into left lanes to exit to I-30 East, or to right
lane to exit to I-30 West.
The Deep Ellum pedestrian area is predominately on Elm, Main and Commerce streets. Main is a two-way street, while Commerce is one-way going east (into Deep Ellum) and Elm is one-way going west (out of Deep Ellum). Good Latimer borders the west side of the most populated area, and Hall borders the east side. Most establishments can be reached on foot from within this area.
On-street metered parking (free after 10pm) is available throughout the area; as are numerous off-street parking lots. Parking is 25 cents for 50 minutes at the meters. Off-street parking lots average $2 for parking during the day and $5 for parking at night.
